At Risk, the first in a series of two novels by Patricia Cornwell, features high-powered and sexy Boston District Attorney Monique “Money” Lamont (Andie MacDowell) and her favorite ace detective, Win Garano (Daniel Sunjata). In an attempt to become the next Governor of Massachusetts, the calculating Monique creates an anti-crime initiative and enlists Win’s help to solve a 20-year-old murder in Tennessee. Grudgingly taking on the assignment, he delves deep into the case with the help of his colleague Sykes (Annabeth Gish) while Monique becomes a victim of a crime herself — making it apparent there is much more at stake.
