Joe DiMaggioJeffrey Dean Morgan’s charisma, undeniable charm and versatility have landed him a variety of prestigious films working alongside a number of award-winning actors and filmmakers. Having worked nonstop in back-to-back features the past few years, Morgan has captured the attention of Hollywood and has emerged as one of the industry’s most sought-after leading men.
2015 will be a busy year for Morgan. He is currently co-starring alongside Halle Barry in the second season of the CBS series “Extant” which will premiere in July and he recently completed filming “Desierto” with Gael García Bernal for director Jonás Cuarón in Mexico.
Last year he shot the History Channel mini-series “Texas Rising” with Bill Paxton and Thomas Jane in Mexico. The mini-series, which details the Texas Revolution and the rise of the Texas Rangers, will air in May. He also shot the heist film “Bus 657” opposite Robert DeNiro.
In 2013, Morgan filmed the western “The Salvation” in South Africa with Eva Green and Mads Mikkelsen, which premiered last May at the Cannes Film Festival and he shot the supernatural thriller “Solace” opposite Sir Anthony Hopkins and Colin Farrell. He also completed his starring role as hotel owner ‘Ike Evans’ in the critically acclaimed Starz series “Magic City” which will become a feature length film.
In 2012 he starred in “Peace, Love & Misunderstanding” alongside Catherine Keener, Jane Fonda and Elizabeth Olsen for director Bruce Beresford. He also starred with Kyra Sedgwick in the thriller “The Possession” for producer Sam Raimi and in the reboot of the 1984 action movie “Red Dawn.”
In 2011 Morgan starred with Sam Worthington, Chloe Moretz and Jessica Chastain in the murder mystery “The Texas Killing Fields” directed by Ami Canaan Mann and produced by Michael Mann.
Prior to that Morgan starred in the Warner Bros. film “Watchmen,” for director Zack Snyder which was an adaptation of the iconic graphic novel.
Morgan also co-starred with Hilary Swank in the Warner Bros. film “P.S. I Love You.”
Additionally, Morgan starred in “The Losers,” an adaptation of DC-Vertigo’s acclaimed comic book series about a band of black ops commandos who are set up to be killed by their own government. The film was produced by Joel Silver and directed by Sylvain White.
Morgan’s additional film credits include Ang Lee’s film “Taking Woodstock,” “The Accidental Husband” alongside Uma Thurman, a cameo role alongside Rachel Weisz in the comedy “Fred Claus,” and the independent office comedy “Kabluey,” in which he played a charismatic yet smarmy co-worker to Lisa Kudrow’s character.
Morgan endeared himself to television audiences worldwide with his recurring roles on the CW series “Supernatural” and on the ABC hit series “Grey’s Anatomy” both of which made him a universal fan favorite. He also had a recurring role in the Showtime’s award-winning comedy series, “Weeds.”
