For a few decades now, the quality of in-school sexual education in many U.S. states has been spiraling down. You can thank state legislatures from coast to coast for that. In Europe, however, they’ve been making strides with lesson programs that not only get into the nitty gritty of what happens between the sheets, but prove to reduce STDs, sexual assault, and unwanted pregnancies.
One program in France, however, takes all the cake.
According to The Guardian, French schoolchildren will find themselves demystifying the unfortunately often mysterious female body with the help of 3D models of the clitoris. That’s right: Instead of scratching their heads over diagrams, boys and girls will get a hands on, 360-degree intro to the clitoris thanks to a printable sculpture created by sociomedical researcher Odile Fillod.
Now, the goal isn’t just to give men (and women for that matter) an understanding of your happy button in order to help them give more pleasure to their partners. As Fillod says, it’s even more important that, “women have a mental image of what is actually happening in their body when they’re stimulated…In understanding the key role of the clitoris, a woman can stop feeling shame, or [that she’s] abnormal if penile-vaginal intercourse doesn’t do the trick for her.”
Brilliant. We give this an A+.
