About The Nanny

When a nasal-voiced, beyond-outspoken Jewish gal from Queens mixes it up with a proper British billionaire widower and his nutty brood of three, you'll want front-row seats for the comic clash! After an unpleasant parting of the ways with her beau/boss at a bridal boutique, Fran Fine is left both heartbroken and unemployed — and is forced to move back in with her mama and sell cosmetics door-to-door. One of the first homes she cold-calls at is the mansion of a wealthy Broadway producer, the very English Maxwell Sheffield. When Maxwell mistakes Fran as someone interviewing to be his children's... • p.s. Thanks also for Reba, and The Golden Girls. I have enjoyed both, and am so very pleased that someone had the gumption to put on a show about senior citizens, especially women, in the face of always having to cater to the 18-49 demographic. I also salute The Golden Girls for addressing the challenging issues of our time.

  • I would like to thank Fran Drescher for creating and co-producing such a wonderful and heartwarming show. I have been moved to tears on several occasions, and have lost track of the number of times I heard "I love you" on the show. True, there were countless moments that strained credulity; there were also some amazing moments that were surprisingly real and very candid. That said, it has remained one of my mother's and my favorite and most watched shows on TV. Thank you, Lifetime and Fran Drescher.

  • I absolutely just love watching The Nanny. Thank you for running two back to back episodes in the morning.I am constantly late 15 minutes for work everyday due to watching "The Nanny"We definetly need a better time. The Golden Girls have been over killed. Please quit running it 10 times a day. The Army wives finale has also been an over kill, please quit running it.Some of us watch lifetime all day, and it gets irritating watching the same commercials and trailers over and over again.

  • Lifetime you have to be out of your mind with your programming line up. The Nanny, Fraiser, Will and Grace and the Golden Girls are your most popular shows and the people will agree. You are suppose to be in the business of geting people to watch your channel, you know ratings. This is what generates your advertisement and makes you money. You are going to become a poor non-watched channel when you cut the Golden Girls down and put the Nanny at these insane hours where people can not watch and enjoy them. We will go elsewhere. I urge everyone to start emailing your advertisers and tell them you are not going to watch this channel because it no longer plays shows you want to watch at a decent time slot. Maybe when your purse starts to hurt you will give the people what they want to see.

  • The Nanny is one of my favorite shows. I discovered it by
watching Lifetime and since you have placed it at a very
difficult time to watch I guess that I will just have to
buy the full season dvd's and stop watching Lifetimes
alltogether. Whoever does your programming should have
their head examined. Put the shows people like to watch
at reasonable times. The Nanny was great in it's previous
time slots. Like I said I guess that I will buy the entire
season dvd set and there goes any reason to watch Lifetimes.

  • The Nanny is one of my favorite television shows for as long as I can remember, right up there with I Love Lucy. I wish lifetime would play it at a better time, and more often. I am sick of watching Still Standing and Reba for hours during the evening. Why not remove some of those episodes and put The Nanny on at 5 o'clock or something. I need my Nanny!!!

Ps. I know it's a long time from now but in April 2010, TVLand is adopting The Nanny.

  • I agree with everyone who supports "The Nanny." It is a wonderful escape from the stress of everyday life. I feel the same way about "Will and Grace." I don't think there has ever been a show that makes me laugh so hard. I would also love to see some M*A*S*H episodes added to the lineup. I have never understood the appeal of "Still Standing." How that show ever lasted more than one season is beyond me. Lara SanGiacomo is one of the worst acresses I have ever encountered. She was the one bad thing about Pretty Woman. She is just not believable as a character.

  • They don't even show The Nanny *at all* here in Melbourne, Australia any more. They only released 2 seasons on DVD. (Which I have and over-watched but never get sick of :) I don't think they're even releasing the Third Season... :( -I'd be over-joyed even with an early morning time-slot. I'd just tape it. :)
